SeniorHangouts

Now available to members of Seniornet Learning Centres.  Hangouts are recordings of presentations made by Seniornet Tutors throughout the country, which members can download over the internet and watch at their leisure and in the comfort of their own homes. These cover a whole range of technology related topics.

These recordings are only available to members of Seniornet Learning Centres who have completed a registration process.  Should you wish to register it is suggested that you visit the Learning Centre, where we can assist you to complete the process.  There is no charge for this, or to watch the recordings.

You can also watch the recording of hangout sessions, using Zoom, where you would have the ability to ask questions of the tutor.  The dates and times that these presentations take place can be found at  https://www.seniorhangouts.nz under the ‘members’ tag and then ‘Calendar’.  You can also simply use Zoom to watch these sessions.  A simple calendar can be accessed by members who have not yet registered.

If you are not familiar with the use of Zoom, we can assist you with that. Provided that you have a device like a computer or tablet which has a camera and a microphone built-in or attached.

Joining a learning session logging into Hangouts using the link above, choosing the session you are interested in, on the given date and time, and clicking on ‘Join Session’, and you will be automatically connected

It really is simple, but if you are not sure what to do, please visit the learning centre or telephone us.  We can also make provision to provide online learning of other matters, to members who are unable to attend the learning centre.

CAUTION: Using video, such as Zoom can use a lot of your data allowance.  If you have a limited amount of data you should consider, either not using these programs or the purchase of more
